Step 2 of 6
inSANE
Sugar By Any Other Name Is Just As Damaging & Sickeningly Sweet
Listen
Note 1
The most common and powerful weapon in the food industry’s arsenal is added sweeteners. The problem has gotten so bad that at the turn of the millennium, the average American ate over 150 pounds of sweeteners per year. That’s a little under a half pound of added sweeteners per day. That’s a cup of pure clog every single day!
Note 2
Barry Popkin, PhD concludes that the “link between sugar consumption and coronary heart disease . . . was stronger than the link between heart disease and the consumption of saturated fats from animal foods.”
Note 3
High-fructose corn syrup (HFCS) is uniquely inSANE. Studies show it makes people fatter and sicker than an equal amount of sugar. Additionally, it has negative Satiety. Eating it makes people hungrier.
Step 3 of 6
SANE
Eat SANE and Automatically Avoid Added Sweeteners & Your Sweet Escape
Listen
Note 1
As a general rule, if it is not coming directly from a plant or an animal, then it has been sweetened.
Note 2
Remember that any form of caloric sweetener causes clogs. Adding vitamins to sugar doesn’t lessen the damage the sugar does.
Note 3
Watch out for misleading “natural” marketing. Unnatural high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS) has been rightfully demonized due to its high fructose content (42 percent). However, the supposedly “healthy” natural replacement agave nectar contains more than twice the amount of fructose (90 percent)!
Step 4 of 6
Quiz
Remember these? Give them one more try now that you’ve spent a few minutes going SANE.
True
Correct! All added sweeteners are bad, have no SANE qualities, and damage every aspect of our health. On the other hand, SANE Whole Food Fats help heal our hearts, unclog our metabolism, and burn fat.
False
Try again.
Q2
The added sweetener high-fructose corn syrup is super inSANE because it has low Satiety.
True
Try again.
False
Correct! The added sweetener high-fructose corn syrup is super inSANE because it has negative Satiety and is even more fattening and sickening than sugar.
Q3
Drinking grape juice in place of Coke is a SANE swap.
True
Try again.
False
Correct! 12 ounces of grape juice contains 50% MORE sugar than a 12 ounce can of Coke. While the juice contains more vitamins, dissolving a vitamin pill in the Coke doesn’t make it healthy…so we must apply the same logic to juice.
Step 5 of 6
Support
The number of people keeping you accountable is your #1 predictor of long-term success.
Sharing your SANEity enables you to enjoy instant accountability and support from your social networks. The science is 100% clear: The more you share your SANEity, the more success you will enjoy.
