Low-Fat, Low-Cholesterol Confusion

Step 1 of 6

Warm-Up

It’s all good if you don’t know the answers. You will get another shot at this quiz later in the lesson.

Foods Containing Cholesterol Hurt Your Cholesterol & Lower Your Cholesterol To Lower Your Risk of Heart Disease

Listen

Note 1

To prove that our government’s low-fat/high-starch guidelines are helpful, three points must be proved: 1. Eating natural foods that contain fat leads to risky levels of cholesterol. 2. These levels of cholesterol cause heart disease. 3. The diet outlined by government’s guidelines improves these cholesterol levels. None of these things have been proved.

Note 2

The Federal Register (the official log of the federal government of the United States) states that “The role of cholesterol in heart disease has not been established. A causal relationship between blood cholesterol levels and these diseases has not been proved. The advisability of making extensive changes in the nature of the dietary fat intake of the people of this country has not been demonstrated.”

Note 3

Most forms of cholesterol are either extremely healthy or neutral. Only the types promoted by inSANE foods (small dense LDL particles) are harmful.

Step 3 of 6

SANE

SANE Foods Containing Cholesterol Help Your Cholesterol & Improve the Quality of Your Cholesterol to Lower Your Risk of Heart Disease

Listen

Note 1

The Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) states that “The proportion of total energy from fat appears largely unrelated to risk of cardiovascular disease, cancer, diabetes, or obesity. Saturated fat—targeted by nearly all nutrition-related professional organizations and governmental agencies—has little relation to heart disease.”

Note 2

The New England Journal of Medicine went so far as to call HDL cholesterol “a biomarker for dietary carbohydrate.” In other words, the more “low-fat” starches and sweets you eat, the more you lower your levels of the type of cholesterol that is crucial to heart health.

Note 3

Any diet telling you to replace SANE whole-food fats with inSANE starches has been proven to harm your heart and waistline.

Step 4 of 6

Quiz

Remember these? Give them one more try now that you’ve spent a few minutes going SANE.

Q1

Studies show that high total cholesterol causes heart disease issues.

Try again.

Correct! No studies have proven high total cholesterol causes heart disease. The American Journal of Medicine reported, “Total cholesterol per se is not a risk factor for coronary heart disease at all.”

Q2

The inSANE conventional low-fat/high-starch and sugar diet reduces total cholesterol.

Correct! This inSANE way of eating lowers all forms of cholesterol…especially the kind critical for heart health. It also changes the make-up of cholesterol particles to make them more damaging. So yes, it is effective at doing what researcher thought was good 50 year ago, but recent studies show that lowering all forms of cholesterol is inviting heart disease.

Try again.

Q3

Reducing total cholesterol reduces the risk of heart disease.

Try again.

Correct! The surest way to increase your risk of heart disease is to lower HDL cholesterol and to lower your LDL cholesterol particle size, both of which are done most effectively by eating inSANE processed foods.

Step 5 of 6

Support

The number of people keeping you accountable is your #1 predictor of long-term success.

Sharing your SANEity enables you to enjoy instant accountability and support from your social networks. The science is 100% clear: The more you share your SANEity, the more success you will enjoy.
